Perhaps the residences next to Manchester Field should have considered the location BEFORE moving to the neighborhood. One of the reasons we didn’t buy a house next to a highway is because we would rather not hear the traffic all the time. Although maybe we should have bought such a house and simply complained about the traffic noise and demanded something be done about it…

Your logic is horrible. Why not a better analogy, k? You do buy a house next to a highway, say Rt 60 and 10 years latter the state decided to turn it into Rt 128 or expand it out 6 lanes. I’m sure you would be just happy with that, right? We are not talking about REMOVING the park because we do not like EXISTING uses nor are we attempting to reduce EXISTING uses. Manchester Field has served the community much the same it has over the past 100 years. We accept the uses of the park and live with them everyday. Having it be the a $3-$4M dollar sports complex that is the epicenter of sports for not only Winchester, but the surrounding Towns Adult and Youth sports leagues is absurd SHIFT in use. Operating 7 days a week until 11pm, is radically different than how it is used today. That is the issue, unfortunate it is a simple concept you can not comprehend.
