Hockey? Another Game Under The Cover Of Darkness
Last night from 9:30 to 11PM there were a bunch of kids playing street hockey on the courts. I’m amazed they are able to see a puck/ball in such low light, but they certainly seemed to have no issues with game play. This brings up the issue of ancillary uses of the field when lights are added. If kids are playing basketball, hockey or just using it as a spot to congregate in near darkness, do you think having lights on the field will lessen or increase this activity? Not only will the games and practices be held under the a fluorescent glow, it will be full use of ALL the facilities; basketball, skate park and other on field activities. Should we be expected to suffer this too?
Why don’t you just stop your whining and move?
Are the conversations around your dinner table chock full of intelligent and thoughtful statements like this one?
Actually they are! We also talk about how nice it will be to have a turf field with lights so that the children will be able to play their sports in the fall and in bad weather. You sir, obviously do not have children or simply care more about your own good than the good of our smallest citizens. You need to find a new hobby. Stop trying to “save” the town, just move out if you do not like progress. BTW I will bet you that I have finished more diplomas than you have even started. Don’t insult my intelligence, please, just get a hobby….or leave.
Ah, the rallying cry of “for the children, for the children”. If you really cared about the children then you would ask that millions of dollars be spent on books, teachers and those classes that have been cut or reduced.
Dolts Mantra? You ARE old. Athletics play a vital role in the development of children. The schools are excellent in Winchester even with these
“cuts”. I assume you never had children given your response so you would not understand. Ask the citizens of Stoneham how they feel about their athletics being cut.
I am counting the days until fantastic, bright lights are at Manchester for all of us to enjoy! BTW , “your” should have read “you’re”…I guess
you truly are a genius. Must have been all the athletics you did NOT play, all the books you read. LIGHTS OM WINCHESTER!!!!!!!!
LIGHTS ON WINCHESTER!

Cool information thanks!

Cool information about this thanks
thanks for the blogs. another way to get the pulse of the town.
i wish ‘george’ would cool his jets, though. nothing more irritating than an ‘enlightened citizen’ who believes he has the right to tell others to move out if their opinion differs. there are many highly educated townspeople with children, myself included, who welcome all comments for and against when weighing the outcome of the many issues this town is facing. and fyi, stoneham is not cutting sports.
